Lightbulb is a little girl, born May 2007 who has Optic Nerve Hypoplasia and Septo-Optic Dysplasia. That means that her optic nerves, which send the visual signals to the brain, are underdeveloped, resulting in vision loss. It also means some parts of her brain, including the growth hormone, do not work properly. As of right now, we are not sure how much she can see. She is working with The Kennedy-Donovan Center’s Early Intervention Program, as well as Perkins School for the Blind to make sure she stays on track. She is a very bright girl who enjoys eating all kinds of different foods and is very independent.
